Thanks to the 'New House - New Life' project funded by the Municipality of Tirana and IADSA, 60 families received on Tuesday their new houses in Shkoza. Capital is the first city to provide sustainable housing solutions to this stratum of society.
"We are very happy to have achieved something that has been gangrene for our city for years. In 27 years, 270 chronicles have been made only for this community. But today I say with pride that we are the only city or capital in Europe that does not have a Roma community living in a tents neighborhood in the city territory. To achieve this in a country like Albania, it means we have a lot of dignity,” said Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj.
The project "New House - New Life" was realized through a signed agreement between the Municipality of Tirana and IADSA for the rehabilitation of “Rom” settlements in Shkoze and aimed at the establishment of a new residential center in the territory called "ish Kombinati Autotraktoreve".
